Reflexology is a gentle, hands-on wellness treatment that applies targeted pressure to specific points on the feet that correspond with different areas of the body. The treatment is designed to encourage relaxation, ease tension, and support an overall sense of balance and well-being. We offer reflexology as a complementary service because it gives clients a calming way to slow down, reduce everyday stress, and support their wellness alongside other therapeutic treatments.

Registered Massage Therapist
My health and wellness career started at Purity Health & Wellness. I started as an office coordinator and grew very attached to the environment, it is my home away from home. This influenced me to take my Holistical Yoga Teacher Training and later pointed me in the direction of Touch for Health, Reflexology, Reiki and then Massage therapy. I am a certified World Fusion Foot Reflexologist, this course was constructed to contain elements of reflexology from around the globe, places such as Europe, Egypt, Thai land, China and more. Bringing together many different techniques. I am passionate about reflexology and how it affects ones overall well-being. I have earned my first, second, and third degree reiki certifications, and continue to have a daily reiki practice, working towards my Reiki Master fourth degree teaching certification. Although I have an ever growing interest in the energy healing arts. I received my Massage Therapy diploma July 2022, and I'm passionate about massage therapy, I was the top student in my class, achieving honours. I can do orthopedic massage, relaxation, deep tissue, sports massage, pediatric massage, pregnancy massage, lava shell, silicone cupping and I have my certification for K- taping. I have had the luxury to hone in on techniques that benefit clients with autoimmune diseases, connective tissue disorders and fibromyalgia, that decreasing the chances of flare ups. When I am not treating clients, I am a Mom and when I get the time I love to cook, bake, garden, meditate, do yoga, hike, camp and ultimately try to spend as much time as I can in nature.

Reflexology in South Edmonton
Reflexology is a complementary wellness practice that uses focused pressure on specific areas of the feet.
Many people choose reflexology because they enjoy the calming, restorative nature of foot-focused treatment. It can be a good option for someone looking to relax, reduce everyday stress or simply take time to slow down in a quiet wellness setting.
At Purity Health & Wellness in South Edmonton, reflexology is offered as a gentle, non-invasive wellness treatment tailored to your comfort and preferences.
What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is based on a system of defined areas or zones on the feet.
During a session, the practitioner applies pressure to these areas using their hands and fingers.
Unlike massage therapy, reflexology is not primarily focused on manipulating muscles and soft tissues throughout the body. Instead, it uses a structured pattern of pressure applied mainly to the feet.
For many clients, the main appeal of reflexology is the relaxing experience itself.
What Happens During a Reflexology Appointment?
A reflexology appointment is generally simple and comfortable.
You typically remain fully clothed while the practitioner works with your feet and sometimes the lower legs.
The session may include:
Gentle or moderate pressure
Focused work on specific areas of the feet
Repetitive pressure techniques
Quiet time to rest
A calm, relaxing treatment environment
Pressure can be adjusted throughout the session depending on your comfort.
Do I Stay Fully Clothed During Reflexology?
Yes.
One of the reasons some people prefer reflexology is that it does not require a traditional full-body treatment.
You normally remain clothed, with only the feet and lower legs needing to be accessible.
This can make reflexology appealing to people who want a hands-on wellness treatment while remaining fully dressed.
Is Reflexology the Same as a Foot Massage?
Not exactly.
A foot massage primarily focuses on the muscles and soft tissues of the feet and lower legs.
Reflexology follows a defined system of pressure points or zones and uses targeted pressure as part of that practice.
The two experiences can feel similar in some ways, but the techniques and treatment approach are different.
Why Do People Choose Reflexology?
People commonly book reflexology because they:
Enjoy foot-focused treatment
Want time to relax
Prefer to remain fully clothed
Want a gentle wellness experience
Enjoy focused pressure rather than full-body massage
Are looking for a quiet break from everyday stress
Prefer a non-invasive treatment
For many people, reflexology is simply part of a broader relaxation or self-care routine.
Reflexology for Relaxation and Stress
Many people describe reflexology as deeply relaxing.
A quiet treatment room, focused touch and time away from screens, work and other daily demands can create an opportunity to slow down.
Reflexology should not be viewed as a replacement for medical or mental-health treatment, but it can be part of an overall wellness routine focused on rest and relaxation.
Is Reflexology Painful?
Reflexology should remain within your comfort level.
Some areas of the feet may feel more sensitive than others, especially if you are already experiencing foot soreness or tenderness.
Pressure can usually be adjusted. Tell your practitioner if anything feels uncomfortable.
A session does not need to be painful to be worthwhile.
Who Might Enjoy Reflexology?
Reflexology may appeal to people who:
Enjoy foot treatments
Want a relaxing appointment
Do not want a full-body massage
Prefer remaining clothed
Want a gentle complementary wellness experience
Spend long periods standing or walking
Simply enjoy dedicated time for rest
You do not need to have a specific problem or health concern to book reflexology.
Reflexology vs Massage Therapy
Reflexology and massage therapy are both hands-on treatments, but they have different areas of focus.
Massage therapy works directly with muscles and other soft tissues throughout the body.
Reflexology primarily uses focused pressure on defined areas of the feet.
Someone looking for treatment of muscular tension in the back, neck or shoulders may prefer massage therapy.
Someone looking for a relaxing, foot-focused experience while remaining clothed may prefer reflexology.
Reflexology vs Reiki
Both reflexology and Reiki are commonly chosen for relaxation, but they are quite different experiences.
Reflexology involves physical pressure applied to the feet.
Reiki generally involves very light touch or the practitioner's hands being held just above the body.
Someone who prefers a more hands-on treatment may enjoy reflexology, while someone looking for a quieter, less physical experience may prefer Reiki.
Reflexology vs Acupuncture
Reflexology and acupuncture are also different practices.
Reflexology uses manual pressure applied mainly to the feet.
Acupuncture uses very fine sterile needles inserted at selected points on the body.
The two approaches have different histories, training and treatment methods.
Can Reflexology Be Combined With Massage or Other Wellness Treatments?
Yes.
Some people enjoy reflexology on its own, while others alternate it with massage therapy, Reiki or other wellness services.
For example:
Reflexology may be chosen for a relaxing foot-focused session.
Massage therapy may be used when muscular tension is the main concern.
Reiki may appeal to someone looking for a quiet meditative experience.
The best option depends on what you are hoping to get from the appointment.
