FORM & FLOW
Poses transition smoothly together to create a flowing sequence. Correct alignment, body mobility, and muscle action are the focus of this class. Be prepared to deepen your asana, anatomy, and body knowledge. This class is appropriate for active beginners, intermediate, and advanced students looking for sustainable and safe ways to practice yoga.
Mondays 7:30 - 8:45 pm^
Wednesdays 7:00 - 8:15 pm^
In Restorative Yoga, props are used to support the body so that poses can be maintained for longer periods of time, allowing you to open your body through passive stretching. The postures are usually adapted from supine or seated yoga poses with the addition of blocks, bolsters, and blankets to eliminate unnecessary straining. Restorative classes are very relaxing and are a good complement to more active practices. Beneficial and suitable for all levels of practice.
Tuesdays 6:15 - 7:15pm ^
Enjoy the benefits of the strength building yang yoga and allow your body to melt into more passively held stretches that typify yin yoga. Moving mindfully from one pose to the next you will feel the natural progression of the practice from beginning to end. You will gain strength, flexibility and develop keen self-awareness as you learn to use your breath to flow.
Sundays 10:30 - 11:45am^
KIDS YOGA [ [Ages 5-12]
Introduce your child to yoga in a fun and non-competitive way! Our trained instructor will stimulate a young child's growing curiosity through playful yoga poses, animated breathing exercises and imaginative relaxation techniques. The classes will encourage a deeper sense of body awareness, self-exploration and interpersonal skills. Classes integrate traditional yoga poses, flowing sequences, breathing exercises, deep relaxation, and meditation techniques.
This class will include poses (asanas) which are typically held for 3 - 5 breaths, breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana). Hatha yoga is designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely. One of the goals is to bring about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. Suitable for all levels!
Thurdays 7:15 - 8:30 pm
Yoga/Meditation classes combine a 30 minute postures (Asana) practice to build strength and flexibility with 30 minute for Meditation/Pranayama/Relaxation. Classes will use various guided techniques influenced by the teachings of Hatha/Tantric yoga, and Buddhist Meditation. The use of Mantra and Pranayama to gain concentration (Pratyahara) and mindfulness leads to the deeper states of Meditation (Dhyana) and moves toward the final stages of Oneness (Samadhi).
